About us

Professionals that are located in Wharton County, Matagorda County, Colorado County and Harris County make up Hospice Support, Inc. Board of Directors.

The purpose of Hospice is to facilitate and maintain the availability of high quality care to those individuals who are terminally ill, have limited or no pay source and wish to die at home.

Hospice Support, Inc. was organized in 1995 and through active fundraising, grant writing, volunteer training and community relations we are able to greatly enhance the care provided by a strong Hospice agency.

Houston Hospice - El Campo has been serving the community since 1988, providing special care for those with life-limiting illness.  Our patients receive comfort care, psychosocial support, spiritual guidance and volunteer assistance.  We do this, one patient, one family at a time in Wharton, Matagorda, Fort Bend, Colorado, Austin, Brazoria and Jackson counties.

For the community we offer a teleconference, which deals with Living with Grief.  This year's topic was "Ethical Dilemmas at the End of Life".  We also offer grief education and support groups designated to help bereaved people to better understand the grief process.

The money that is donated to Hospice is used to assist the volunteers, bereavement service, medication and medical supplies, equipment provided according to individuals benefit plan requirements, nursing visits by registered nurses, social service, pastoral care and home health aides.

Community support is vital to the success of Houston Hospice - El Campo.  The contribution of financial resources as well as time furthers the program in so many ways.  Each gift ensures that care is always available at the highest possible level, regardless of ones ability to pay.
